Dear Aunty,
I followed your advice to me by letter a month ago. I have noticed- the ups and down in Ravi’s moods. It is now apparent; his love was merely a passing fancy for my appearance. It has proved a short romance. It ended yesterday when he banged my door shut and left after he could not agree with me on drugs.

Dear Aunty,
It is now two months since you wrote to me and advised Me on 6-month probation. Ravi has proved a very stable friend. He has very mature views on life. As he says, he owes it to the influence of his mother, a schoolteacher. I find him a balanced sober boy.
We cannot wait any longer to be tied in nuptial bonds. Our parents have agreed to it after a slight hesitation. His parents are also middle-class and do not lay many stores by social pomp and show. A simple marriage is, therefore, fixed for 7th Oct 19… Aunty, I shall anxiously wait for you and Uncle to come and bless us. I am sending his photograph.
