Dear Mukesh,
As you have a keen sense of humour you choose to see me as a cartoon — a middle-aged bossy administrator shouting at his yes-men and having his palms greased! But times have changed. Even the I.A.S. face a type of deterioration in their image. The old aura about the I.C.S. is no more. There is much political interference in the decisions of the I.A.S. officers. They are often humiliated by ill-mannered, semi-literate ministers who. can persecute them by ‘shunting’ them to remote positions in the country.
So all the challenges of conscience are there for me. But I’m not giving up.
