Dear Mr. Roy,
I received your letter of 19 July, 20 … If I did anything to make Rinky’s marriage go well I consider it a service done to a brother. Besides, Rinky was a good friend of our daughter and we will also miss her sweet and innocent company.
I can understand Bhabhiji’s loneliness now. You have recommended Asutosh and his newlywed bride. I have no objection whatsoever to your subletting the house if you are so convinced of his character. I do hope the young bride will substitute Rinky to some extent. As for your deciding to visit us on Sundays with the couple, you may come for a break and have tea with us. After all, it will do us all good to know the new occupants.
