Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kohli,
How exulted we have been since we received your letter about Rinku’s engagement can well be imagined from the deep regret we feel in expressing our inability to attend the marriage.
Our son Prakash whom you know is an engineer in the States has already fixed our visit and itinerary for the first birthday of his little daughter, Patsy. We have to leave in April end and will be away in the whole of May. So God’s will does not seem to be that we should attend our dearest friend’s daughter’s marriage!
If there is anything we can do now or from the States do let us know. By helping you we shall feel relieved of the guilt of our not coming.
